Script Deadline

Well, I've dead-lined myself after much fear of completion. I guess the fear of not having a full script finally won the battle for my heart and my time after all. The final draft should be done by Sunday, 29th March and Taylor Rae (Assistant Director) is going to help with scheduling and breaking the script down.


Taylor is my right hand for this project, but a fantastic director of his own accord. His new film Old Man and the Ceiling is wonderful and touching and sure to be an award winner this year.

Thank God pre-production is almost over.

Funding!

Well, good news! We received our first batch of funding for the film today. We're close - but not there yet. Big thanks to everyone who has contributed so generously during these tough economic times. Exciting time to be making low-budget films

Script

So, for two months now I've been writing and re-writing the script. I'm getting frustrated with myself. I know the story, I know what happens - I just can't bring myself to call it done. Its a scary thing, it feels too final - even if it's not. I'm feeling refreshed after a nice weekend in the desert. This picture is inspiring for some reason.

Soundtrack

The Magic Lantern is one of my very favorite bands to come out of Long Beach. Soaring guitars and deep, dark overtones encapsulate the atmosphere of the film. Cameron Stallones has been kind enough to give us permission to use their music. They just finished playing @ SXSW this year in Austin, TX. Go buy the High Beams LP.

Film Color Swatch

So, to get a good visual idea of what we want the film to look like, both in mood and in color tone, we take a variety of digital stills of locations and motifs.

Now, these images are NOT from the film itself, but rather scetches of what it might look like. Don't mind our model Tobin Polk or his golf club, neither have anything to do with the story.

The script is almost done. I sent out our funding letters last week, so if your here in regards to that, Thank you for helping make this happen.
