UPDATE - In Production

Hey everyone - I realize that its been quite a while since our last update - and I apologize for that. While in the midst of setting up shoots and getting everything up and running - blogging has been among the furthest of things from my mind.

We've had two very successful shoots over the last few weeks and we're looking forward to getting some more under our belts within this one. As of 7/7/09 we will lose our Wolfemann (Mike Ruffino) for five weeks for a job opportunity in France. So we're trying to squeeze a lot out of the next week Good luck Mike!

Squaring off

And I can't say enough about my actors - its truly fantastic what these men and women bring to the table. I'm honored to work with such talent.

Well, thats all you get for now. We'll be shooting through the summer - and well into Post-Production by mid-August. Thanks for your love and support. Everything is coming together nicely because people like you have made it so - either by your words or deeds.

A Visit Home

I went home to Nevada City, CA for the Easter weekend - and then some. Very pleasant, very beautiful. I am in love with this little mountain town. I believe I will return one day and make a film about it.

Nowhere is closer to the core of my heart and soul than this place is. Fundamental to my being.

I found my Dad's old compound bow. I'm taking it.

Script Deadline

Well, I've dead-lined myself after much fear of completion. I guess the fear of not having a full script finally won the battle for my heart and my time after all. The final draft should be done by Sunday, 29th March and Taylor Rae (Assistant Director) is going to help with scheduling and breaking the script down.

Taylor is my right hand for this project, but a fantastic director of his own accord. His new film Old Man and the Ceiling is wonderful and touching and sure to be an award winner this year.

Thank God pre-production is almost over.

Funding!

Well, good news! We received our first batch of funding for the film today. We're close - but not there yet. Big thanks to everyone who has contributed so generously during these tough economic times. Exciting time to be making low-budget films

Script

So, for two months now I've been writing and re-writing the script. I'm getting frustrated with myself. I know the story, I know what happens - I just can't bring myself to call it done. Its a scary thing, it feels too final - even if it's not. I'm feeling refreshed after a nice weekend in the desert. This picture is inspiring for some reason.
